Iran Reports Assault on American Facility in Bahrain, Amid Widespread Counterattacks.
Tehran reports attacking a American military facility in Bahrain, as the country executed strikes across the region in response for a large-scale and continuing attack targeting the nation by the US and Israel.
Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an vicinity near the headquarters of the American Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The extent of any damage is not yet known and the US has remained silent.
Missile Defenses Activated
Elsewhere across the region, the UAE, the State of Qatar and Kuwait - all home to US military bases - reported they have intercepted incoming projectiles in their airspace.
In the Qatari capital, the Qatari Ministry of Defence said it had successfully engaged several missiles seemingly aimed at the al-Udeid air base, the largest American base in the Middle East.
IRGC Statement
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard stated it was striking American facilities and interests as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in reprisal for the offensive on the Islamic Republic carried out by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday morning.
That preceding assault - launched at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far targeted sites linked to the Iranian leadership, with US President Donald Trump calling on the people of Iran to revolt against the government.

In the State of Israel, air raid sirens sounded across the country after the Israel Defense Forces reported it had detected an barrage of missiles from Iran.
The defence ministry of the United Arab Emirates stated that the country has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"Emirati air defenses engaged the missiles with notable success and destroyed a series of missiles," it added.
The statement noted debris fell on a neighborhood in Abu Dhabi, causing some material damage and killing a civilian.
The United States Air Force operates from Al Dhafra Air Base, to the south of Abu Dhabi, along with the UAE Air Force.
